February 28, 2023

Dr Melissa Green

Dr. Green is a clinical psychologist who has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, as well as a master’s degree and an advanced graduate certificate in school psychology from Howard University in Washington, DC. She also earned a doctorate in clinical psychology, from George Washington University in Washington, DC.  She is currently licensed to practice psychology in the states of Georgia and Hawaii. Her career has focused primarily on three areas of psychology, school psychology, military psychology, and forensic psychology

In 1998, Dr. Green started her career in the mental health field, working as a school psychologist in the District of Columbia Public Schools. She has since worked in public school systems in Virginia, Georgia, Hawaii, and the US Virgin Islands. In 2009, she made a pivot in her career and began working with active-duty military service members. She worked on a military installation in Hawaii for five years. While doing that she co-facilitated a group with a yoga teacher and was inspired to complete a yoga teacher training program after seeing the benefits that her military clients received from practicing yoga. In 2017, Dr. Green’s career shifted again to forensic psychology. She spent three years working as a forensic evaluator, in a psychiatric hospital, performing competency to stand trial evaluations, violence risk assessments and testifying as an expert witness. Currently, Dr. Green is focusing her work on teaching about brain health, healthy aging and supporting dementia family caregivers.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
